Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada is seeking individuals to serve on certain institutions, boards and commissions for which the Minister has appointment and nomination responsibilities.

Environmental Studies Research Fund

Northern public member on Environmental Studies Research Fund management board

  • 3 year appointment
  • represent the public’s interest for the northern regions of Canada
  • participate in board meetings via video or teleconference approximately 3 times a year and in person twice a year
  • volunteer position with paid travel expenses

Who can apply?

A particular area of expertise is not required, but it would be an asset to have:

  • experience with the oil and gas sector
  • basic knowledge of oil and gas environmental issues in the Arctic offshore
  • experience representing the public’s interests on governing bodies

The Government of Canada will consider bilingualism proficiency and diversity in assessing candidates for this seat.

Preference may be given to candidates who are members of one or more of the following groups: women, Indigenous peoples, disabled persons, and members of visible minorities.
