Performance Measurement Strategy

Performance Measurement Strategies are results-based management tools used to guide the selection, development and ongoing use of performance measures. The purpose of these strategies is to assist program managers and deputy heads to: continuously monitor and assess the results of programs as well as the economy and efficiency of their management; make informed decisions and take appropriate, timely action with respect to programs; provide effective and relevant departmental reporting on programs and; ensure that credible and reliable performance data are being collected to effectively support evaluation.
