Forging Strategic Partnerships with Other Countries
Canada is among a number of countries working to improve the quality of life of indigenous peoples.
Strengthening partnerships with other countries on indigenous issues provides an opportunity to exchange knowledge and share best practices in a way that can help inform each country's domestic policy and program development.
These relationships can be guided by Memoranda of Understanding (MOU), and also include more informal arrangements.
Existing arrangements between Canada and other countries include:
- AANDC and the US Department of the Interior
- AANDC and the State Committee on Northern Affairs of the Russian Federation
