The Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development hereby calls for the submission of bids in respect of six (6) parcels in the Beaufort Sea & Mackenzie Delta of the Northwest Territories (covering 905,900 hectares, more or less).
The parcels are formally described in the Call for Bids document using the Frontier Lands Grid System. The Call for Bids documents, including a detailed map showing the parcels, are available by request or from the Northern Oil and Gas website.
General Terms and Conditions
The General Terms and Conditions of the Call for Bids are described in the official call documents: the 2011-2012 Call for Bids for the Beaufort Sea & Mackenzie Delta.
The term of an exploration licence issued for this region is nine (9) years consisting of two (2) consecutive periods of either five (5) and four (4) years, or, seven (7) and two (2) years, depending upon the location of the parcel in relation to Line A on the call map. These are referred to as Period 1 and Period 2.
SEALED BIDS MUST BE DELIVERED TO THE FOLLOWING ADDRESS, EITHER BY REGISTERED MAIL OR IN PERSON, PRIOR TO NOON (MOUNTAIN TIME), ON SEPTEMBER 6, 2012.

Selection of the successful bid will be made on the basis of a single criterion, namely, the total amount of money that the bidder proposes to spend doing exploratory work on each parcel within Period 1 of the term of the Exploration Licence (Work Proposal Bid). Work Proposal Bids of less than one million dollars for each parcel will not be considered. To be accepted, bids must be accompanied by separate financial instruments in respect of the issuance fee and the bid deposit. Note that the Minister is not required to issue an interest as a result of a Call for Bids.
