Post-secondary Funding for Yukon and Northern BC First Nation Students

Are you a First Nations Post-Secondary Student?

If you are, there may be funding available to subsidize your studies!

Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada provides funding for registered status members of the Kluane First Nation, Ross River Dena Council, Daylu Dena Council and Dease River First Nation for post-secondary school.

Students from other First Nations can apply for funding through their First Nation, the Government of Yukon or the Skookum Jim Friendship Centre and should contact them directly.

Who is eligible?

  • Registered status First Nations individuals
  • Students enrolled in an eligible university or college entrance program, certificate, diploma, degree, masters or PhD program.

What costs are covered?

Depending on whether you are full-time or part-time and where you go to school, financial assistance may be provided for:
  • Tuition
  • Books and supplies
  • Living allowance
  • Travel to post-secondary institution

Application deadlines:

Fall enrolment – July 15th
Winter enrolment – November 15th
Spring enrolment – March 31st
