The Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development hereby calls for the submission of bids in respect of a 11 parcels in the Central Mackenzie Valley (covering 897,888 hectares, more or less) and 3 parcels in the Beaufort Sea & Mackenzie Delta (covering 386,267 hectares, more or less).

The parcels are formally described in the Calls for Bids documents using the Frontier Lands Grid System. The Calls for Bids documents are available by request or by downloading from the Northern Oil and Gas Branch Website.

General Terms and Conditions

The General Terms and Conditions of the Call for Bids are described in the official call documents: the 2010-2011 Call for Bids for the Central Mackenzie Valley and for the Beaufort Sea & Mackenzie Delta.

Sealed bids must be delivered to the following address, either by registered mail or in person, prior to NOON (Mountain Time), on June 21, 2011.

The term of an exploration licence issued for these regions is nine (9) years consisting of two (2) consecutive periods of five (5) and four (4) years respectively. These are referred to as Period 1 and Period 2.

Selection of the successful bid will be made on the basis of a single criterion, namely, the total amount of money that the bidder proposes to spend doing exploratory work on each parcel within Period 1 of the term of the Exploration Licence (Work Proposal Bid). Work Proposal Bids of less than 1 million dollars for each parcel will not be considered. A deposit of $10,000.00 must be submitted with the bid for each parcel. Issuance fees of $250.00 per grid, or portion thereof, must be submitted with the bid. Note that the Minister is not required to issue an interest as a result of a Call for Bids.
