Science and Technology

As part of its northern development mandate, Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada (AANDC) supports science and technology developments in Canada's North through:

  • the Northern Strategy has committed funds for the Canadian High Arctic Research Station  , which will provide a year-round world-class hub for science and technology in Canada’s North.
  • the Northern Scientific Training Program, which offers grants to Canadian university students to conduct field research in Canada's North; and
  • the Northern Science Award, which recognizes excellence in scientific research in Canada's north. This award is open to both individuals and indigenous groups.
