The Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development hereby calls for the submission of bids in respect of a single parcel in the Central Mackenzie Valley (covering 80,240 hectares, more or less); a single parcel located in the Beaufort Sea (covering 205,946 hectares, more or less); and four (4) parcels in the Mackenzie Delta (covering 290,537 hectares, more or less).

The parcels are formally described in the Call for Bids documents using the Frontier Lands Grid System.

General Terms and Conditions

The General Terms and Conditions of the Call for Bids are described in the official call documents: the 2009-2010 Call for Bids for the Central Mackenzie Valley and for the Beaufort Sea / Mackenzie Delta.

The term of an exploration licence issued for all regions is nine (9) years consisting of two (2) consecutive periods of five (5) and four (4) years respectively. These are referred to as Period 1 and Period 2.

Sealed bids must be delivered, either by registered mail or in person, to the following address prior to NOON, Mountain Time, on July 6, 2010.

Selection of the successful bid will be made on the basis of a single criterion, namely, the total amount of money that the bidder proposes to spend doing exploratory work on each parcel within Period 1 of the term of the exploration licence (Work Proposal Bid). Work proposal bids of less than $1 million for each parcel will not be considered. A deposit of $10,000.00 must be submitted with the bid for each parcel. Issuance fees of $250.00 per grid, or portion thereof, must be submitted with the bid. Note that the Minister is not required to issue an interest as a result of a Call for Bids.
