Northwest Territories and Nunavut Mining Regulations

The administration of Crown lands in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut is done through the Territorial Lands Act   and its Regulations, including the Northwest Territories and Nunavut Mining Regulations   (formerly the Canada Mining Regulations). 

The Department of Indian and Northern Affairs is continuing to work with the Department of Justice on the proposed amendments to these regulations. The proposed amendments are intended to simplify, clarify and modernize the regulations rather than changing the fundamental principles upon which the regulations are based.
