These charts show the weekly cost of the Revised Northern Food Basket (RNFB) for a family of four.  Most nutritious food baskets are based on average purchasing or consumption data for a particular population group as a starting point to determine the kinds and amounts of foods to be included.  The cost of the basket is affected not only by the choice of foods in the basket, but also by the purchase units, by the brand or brands that are chosen, and by the ways in which prices for each product in the basket are combined in calculating the total cost.
