On behalf of the Government of Canada, Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada (AANDC) participates in the Arctic Council and implements the Northern dimension of Canada's foreign policy and other international cooperation activities related to the Arctic. Canada works with other countries with polar regions on issues of common concerns. These include Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, the Russian Federation, Sweden and the United States of America.
