Supplier Registration Information and Supplier Search

Aboriginal Business Directory

In collaboration with Industry Canada, we are now "pre-qualifying" all Aboriginal firms that are registered in Canadian Company Capabiities.

Although being registered in the Canadian Company Capabiities database is still not a mandatory requirement to do business with the Federal Government, we strongly encourage you to do so.

In the near future, we will only refer to the Aboriginal Business Directory to determine Aboriginal business capacity when asked by the procurement community and when we wish to intervene on procurement strategies on behalf of the Aboriginal Business Community.

Eligibility

To be included in the Aboriginal Business directory, companies must meet the Procurement Strategies for Aboriginal Business (PSAB) eligibility criteria.

Aboriginal Businesses wishing to contract with Public Works and Government Services must register in the Supplier Registration Information (SRI) service as a potential supplier to the Government of Canada. SRI is used by federal government buyers to identify potential suppliers for purchases not subject to any of the trade agreements (for which they use MERX).

Once you have registered you will be given a Procurement Business Number (PBN) to uniquely identify a branch, division, or office of your company. Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) is using the PBN for its purchasing and payment systems as a supplier identifier code. Other federal government departments are gradually adopting the PBN as part of their purchasing activities.

Both of these Databases are used by Federal Government Procurement Officers to seek Aboriginal Capacity for various Goods or Services Contracts.
