Intergovernmental Relations

Aboriginal and Territorial Relations is also responsible for supporting intergovernmental matters including intergovernmental relationships among Aboriginal leaders, the territorial government and the federal government. The objective is to advance issues of common interest and contribute towards the continued political, social and economic development of the Northwest Territories. 

More specifically, the regional office:

• Supports governance capacity building initiatives with Aboriginal partners
• Advises on political, social and economic development of the NWT
• Provides administrative support for political development processes
