Communications and Consultation

Notice

This website will change as a result of the dissolution of Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada, the creation of Indigenous Services Canada and the eventual creation of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada. During this transformation, you may also wish to consult the updated Indigenous and Northern Affairs home page.

First Nations Communications Toolkit Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada (AANDC) and First Nations communicators collaborated to develop the First Nations Communications Toolkit, a guide to communicating with members, media and the general public concerning current First Nations' issues. The toolkit is designed to help First Nations communicators provide information and facilitate dialogue concerning issues such as self-government agreements, specific claims settlements and treaty negotiations.

Using a First Nations perspective, the toolkit provides templates, samples and a broad overview of topics such as communications planning, publications, media relations and Web communications. The First Nations Communications Toolkit is a resource for anyone who wants a better understanding of how communications can benefit their community.
