Information for First Nation Administration

Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada (AANDC) transfers funds to First Nations and First Nations organisations for the delivery of programs and services on reserve. Since reserve land is owned by the Government of Canada (Crown) on behalf of First Nations, AANDC is also involved in some aspects of the management of reserve lands according to the Indian Act.

AANDC focuses on building government to government relationships and fostering effective First Nations governance as a foundation for self-reliant communities.

Please follow the links to the left for information on the delivery of AANDC BC Region programs and services in partnership with First Nations governments.

Many other government departments, federal and provincial, also provide services and support to First Nations governments.
