Symbol of the Government of Canada

Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada (AANDC) conducts a wide range of research on Aboriginal and northern issues, such as education levels, average income and life expectancy of Aboriginal people and Northerners. This knowledge helps the federal government to develop appropriate and effective policies, programs and services. It is also intended to be used by many other organizations.

In this section, you can access research reports, statistics and other publications as well as information on the Department's role in the Aboriginal Policy Research Conference.

You can also find information and frequently asked questions about the next iteration of the survey on Aboriginal peoples. The fourth generation of this survey is dedicated to obtaining information on education and employment for First Nation, Métis and Inuit populations across Canada.
